Building a better picture of LGBTI Sistergirl and Brotherboy ageing and caring in Queensland

QLD Council for LGBTI Health and University of Southern Queensland

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Gender Diverse, Non-Binary, Intersex, Sistergirl and Brotherboy Queenslanders, including older people and their carers, are being asked to share views on their current or anticipated future needs and concerns about ageing and aged care.

The Queensland Ageing and Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex Sistergirl Brotherboy Issues (QALSBI) Working Group invites ALL Queenslanders who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Gender Diverse, Non-Binary, people with the experience of Intersex variations, Sistergirl and Brotherboy to complete a confidential and anonymous online or paper-based survey that will take approximately 30-60 minutes with the goal of better understanding:

  • what are the priority concerns and issues regarding health and wellbeing in older years (whether that is now or in the future)?
  • what support do members of the LGBTIQ community currently need, or might need as they age?
  • what is working well in aged care support services?
  • what could be improved and how?
