Exploring security in the GP-Patient Relationship: A Qualitative Study

University of Queensland

Exploring GP-Patient Relationships

We are seeking GPs and their practices willing to participate in a study exploring how healing GP-Patient relationships are experienced and cultivated.

Patients of consenting GPs will be invited to complete an initial patient survey, after which a smaller number of patients and their GPs will be invited to participate in semi-structured interviews and complete an additional questionnaire. Interview participants will be compensated for their time with a $50 Coles/Myer gift voucher.

We anticipate that your involvement will benefit patients and the general practice community by providing a foundation for clearer communication and enhanced provision of relationship based whole person care in Australian general practice.

Interested? Please email Dr Hayley Thomas (GP, Senior Lecturer, General Practice Clinical Unit, The University of Queensland) at h.thomas@uq.edu.au.
