Brisbane North PHN and Metro North Health are currently engaged in a co-design process with service providers, consumers and carers to design and build a business case for a new model addressing core barriers to effective chronic wound care in the community.

Over the past month, we have engaged through group co-design sessions as well as in-depth interviews to understand current barriers and design solution to address these challenges.

We have heard there are long waiting lists to access specialised tertiary services, limited access to community-based services and significant costs for ongoing treatment for patients and service providers.

We are now working with providers to develop a vision for the future and generate ideas which will address these complex barriers.
