Celebrating connection at the Brisbane North Aged Care Forum
02 November 2026Despite the rainy weather, 128 attendees gathered for the Brisbane North Aged Care Forum on Thursday 22 October, marking 10 years of bringing together health, aged care and community professionals from across the region.
The forum's theme of connection was evident throughout the day, with discussions highlighting the importance of coordinated, person-centred care and strong partnerships to support older people. An engaging session explored the challenges contributing to prolonged hospital stays for older people and the opportunities for organisations to work together to support timely transitions of care.

Presentations also showcased a range of local initiatives and services designed to support the aged care workforce and improve outcomes for older people. Topics included alcohol and other drug use in older people, dementia care, supporting people with additional and complex needs, and innovative approaches being delivered across Brisbane North and Moreton Bay to strengthen care and wellbeing.
Participants welcomed the opportunity to connect, share insights and learn from colleagues across the health and aged care sectors, with feedback reflecting a highly valued and well-received event.
The PHN also announced that the next Brisbane North Aged Care Forum will be held on Thursday 18 March in Chermside, with further details to follow.
