Connecting the community to mental health services – one webchat at a time

Mental health

The My Mental Health website is an online guide to mental health services in the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region – it can be a helpful resource for someone (or their loved ones) struggling with their mental health, or who is looking for supportive, localised information, news, events, or resources.

To offer a more streamlined navigation experience on the website we have no introduced My Mental Health Chat – a free service navigation webchat that offers consumers the real-time experience of talking with a health professional to access supports for their unique mental health needs. Webchat can also offer a pathway for connecting to the Head to Health phoneline for more in-depth discussion about referral options.

It can be daunting to pick up the phone and express what’s been going on – this new service can offer privacy and a personalised experience for patients who may be uncomfortable taking the first step in making enquiries about their mental health. The chat is inclusive, and available for everyone and anyone – we believe that having multiple communication pathways is critical in supporting our wider community to bridge the service gap.

Webchat is available Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, excluding public holidays. Users can send a message after-hours to receive a call back from a service navigator next business day.

Find out more at mymentalhealth.org.au. To access the webchat, click on the Chat now button.

Please note: My Mental Health Chat is not a counselling or crisis service.
