Communications and engagement

Over the holiday break, GPs may not be keeping regular practice hours. You may find that you need care that is unplanned, after-hours or urgent (but not an emergency) - for these situations, the following alternatives to hospital emergency departments (ED) are available.

To help you with your decision in the event of an urgent healthcare event, you can consult these resources to find out where to go when you have an illness or injury, or when you should visit a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC).

In an emergency, you should always dial Triple Zero (000).

For walk-in services:

- Patients can find their nearest Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) online, including the Murrumba Downs Medicare UCC and the Northside Medicare UCC now open 7 days from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm
-
Morayfield Minor Accident and Illness Centre (MAIC), open 7 days from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm
-
Satellite Hospitals with dedicated Minor Injury and Illness Clinics are now open in our region at Caboolture and Kallangur 7 days from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm.

For virtual and telehealth services:

- 13HEALTH (13 432584) and 1300 MHCALL (1300 642255) for free call health advice or mental health support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
-
Brisbane North PHN's My Mental Health webchat (please see the website for availability)
-

- Healthdirect's Service Finder, Health Engine's Next Available Appointment and HotDoc can also assist patients in finding an available GP appointment in their local area.

Our dedicated Urgent Care webpage maps all current and new urgent care and after-hours care pathways available in our region.
