Launch of resources to support PHN teams to engage and partner well
13 February 2024To develop and foster more meaningful and effective stakeholder relationships and interactions across our commissioning cycle, Brisbane North PHN uses two main approaches – engagement and partnering.
Engagement and partnering work can often be complex to navigate, including at our PHN where these complexities are almost always unique to each specific project.
To support teams in navigating these challenges, an internal Engagement and Partnering Toolkit was developed to empower PHN program teams and people to embed consistent, best practice approaches to engagement and partnering in the work they do.
Over several months consultation with both internal and external stakeholders, including our internal working group, various PHN teams and external consultants, shared examples, experiences and resources that helped to shape and contributed to the design of this fit-for-purpose toolkit unique to the needs of Brisbane North PHN.
The toolkit provides best practice principles, processes and tools to support staff in delivering effective engagement and partnering activities as strategically outlined in the Brisbane North PHN’s Engagement and Partnering Framework.
This much-anticipated resource was launched in January 2024, with regular lunchbox sessions to follow to build staff members’ capacity to use the toolkit in pursuit of engaging and partnering well.
A Community of Practice (CoP) is also in the pipeline and aims to create a platform for staff with a shared interest in engagement and partnering to collectively learn and connect outside of training sessions. The CoP will be guided by the members, and will foster creative conversations focusing on problem solving, sharing of knowledge, best practice and innovation.
