New headspace for Bribie Island youth
03 February 2025Young people on Bribie Island now have access to mental health support closer to home with the opening of a local headspace satellite service.

Brisbane North PHN welcomed Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention the Hon. Emma McBride MP to officially open headspace Bribie Island in January.
headspace Bribie Island, operated by Youturn Youth Support and located at 201 First Avenue, assists young people aged 12 to 25 who are experiencing, or at risk of, mild to moderate mental ill-health.
The centre provides support in four areas – mental health, physical and sexual health, work and study, and alcohol and drugs.
More than 80 young people have already been supported by the Bribie satellite since opening in August 2024.
At the site’s launch, Felix, a member of the headspace Bribie Island Youth Reference Group (YRG) said how important talking about mental health is, not just for young people, and shared how useful headspace had been in providing support personally.
“They are there to listen and sometimes that is all I need."
“With the opening of headspace Bribie Island, local young people can now access support without needing to cross the channel,” Assistant Minister McBride said.
headspace Bribie Island is the fourth service to open in Moreton Bay with existing locations in Caboolture, Redcliffe and Strathpine and is a welcome addition to health services available on Bribie Island.
