Provider Connect Australia to be rolled out in the North Brisbane region
31 July 2023Brisbane North PHN’s Digital Health team will be assisting with the national rollout of Provider Connect Australia (PCA) this month.
A typical healthcare provider organisation will partner with various businesses, including:
- Primary Health Networks, like Brisbane North PHN
- public and private hospitals
- communication services, such as secure messaging services and prescription exchanges
- health services directories, such as the National Health Services Directory
- private and government clinical programs
- clinical pathways services
- online booking systems
- diagnostic services
- funders, such as Medicare, private health insurers and workplace and accident insurers.
PCA is a free service operated by the Australian Digital Health Agency which streamlines the communications process between these organisations by maintaining a service and practitioner directory in one central location.
Once an organisation signs up for PCA, only a single master copy of the healthcare provider organisation’s details needs to be maintained, with chosen business partners automatically updated whenever any details change. This saves time, reduces human error and removes the hassle of filling out multiple forms.
