Timely care for Jacinda at Murrumba Downs Medicare UCC

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCC) are providing a timely and convenient urgent care pathway for people in our region.

This January, Jacinda presented to Caboolture Hospital Emergency Department with suspected meningococcal disease and faced extensive wait times to be seen by a doctor. While waiting, Jacinda and Karen heard about Murrumba Downs Medicare UCC – after a phone call to the clinic, they presented and were provided quick access to an isolation room and triage nurse, and subsequent consultation with a GP.

Thankfully, meningococcal infection was ruled out. However, Jacinda and Karen said their experience was ultimately made less stressful thanks to being able to access the Murrumba Downs Medicare UCC in a timely manner.

Two Medicare Urgent Care Clinics – Murrumba Downs and Northside – are now open and operational in our region. Along with Caboolture and Bribie Island Satellite Hospital Minor Injury and Illness Clinics, and a Minor Accident and Illness Centre (MAIC) at Morayfield, residents of North Brisbane and Moreton Bay can be assured that there is a quick and convenient pathway to access care when and where they need it the most.
