Family Plus Medical Practice - Medical receptionist

Our general practice seeking a medical receptionist to join our team. We provide a professional, respectful and enjoyable work environment for the successful candidate. We are supported by a principal clinician, practice manager, visiting specialists and allied health, nursing staff and onsite pathology.

As a medical receptionist, you always exemplify excellent customer service and communication skills when dealing with patients as well as astute administrative skills to support doctors, allied health and practice staff.

Our practice will require you on a casual basis Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. The hours will initially be on an ad-hoc basis, however, our endeavor is to provide you with regular hours as we grow.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• providing our patients with an exceptional experience
• answering incoming calls and scheduling appointments with follow up phone calls as needed
• administering billing, receipting and data management
• liaising with and supporting our doctors and practice staff as needed.

It is essential that you possess:

• acute customer service and communication skills with an abundance of enthusiasm, energy and initiative
• proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and data entry, with organisational capability to multi-task, prioritise and thrive in busy environments
• previous GP experience and familiarity with Best Practice software will be highly regarded
• knowledge of Medicare billing processes and healthcare rebates
• basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures will be advantageous
• minimum six months experience in medical reception or customer service roles
• Australian work rights or valid visa permitting employment.
