Potential new therapy to help control high blood pressure

UniSC Clinical Trials

UniSC Clinical Trials are trialling a potential treatment designed to improve blood pressure management for people with high blood pressure. We are seeking applicants who are aged 18 to 65 years and have high blood pressure (130-159 mmHg systolic) and are not currently taking blood pressure medication, to participate in the trial of an investigational treatment.

The trial will be overseen by Principal Investigator Dr Indika Leelasena at our Morayfield clinic in Moreton Bay and supported by our experienced clinical trials staff.

We are seeking applications from people who:

  • are aged between 18 and 65 years
  • have high blood pressure (130-159 mmHg systolic) and are not currently taking blood pressure medication
  • have a body mass index (BMI) between 18.0 and 35.0 kg/m² (https://www.heartfoundation.or...)
  • if female, you must be post-menopausal or otherwise permanently sterile
  • can attend 13 clinic visits during the first six months, including a 2-night stay at the clinic with overnight accommodation provided. After that, regular follow-up visits will be scheduled approximately every three months for up to approximately one year at our Moreton Bay clinic.

If you have any patients who fit the criteria and would be suitable for a clinical trial, we would appreciate your consideration of their participation.

Patient’s will receive reimbursement for their time and travel costs. All trial related treatment is of no cost to the participants.
