Postvention support for suicide loss survivors with Islamic backgrounds: Insights from the Australian mental health workforce, online survey

The University of Melbourne

As part of a PhD project, researchers at the University of Melbourne want to learn how the Australian mental health workforce can be better equipped to support Muslim clients bereaved by suicide. The following survey will explore your knowledge and confidence in supporting people bereaved by suicide, including those from Islamic backgrounds. It will also explore your perceived needs and suggestions to shape the suicide postvention training. The study has been approved by the research ethics committee of The University of Melbourne (ID 33826).

The survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You may participate:

  • if you are a psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, psychiatrist, social worker, nurse, general practitioner, etc
  • if you are based in Australia
  • you have at least two year of professional practice with any client (e.g., age group, mental health challenges).
