Kelly is a general practitioner and the managing director of Banyo Clinic, a long-established GP teaching practice in the Brisbane North PHN region. Alongside his clinical qualifications, he holds a Master of Health Administration and is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Kelly's dedication to healthcare quality is rooted in his comprehensive understanding of primary care. He continues to be an active member in the Brisbane North PHN Clinician’s Advisory Group and serves as the Queensland lead surveyor and advisory board member for QPA, one of Australia’s largest GP accreditation organizations. These roles enable him to stay connected to both local and national healthcare issues.
