Telehealth care
Brisbane North PHN is supporting Residential Aged Care Homes to access and utilise telehealth supported care for their residents.

Brisbane North PHN has been working with RACHs to increase access to and utilisation of telehealth supported care for their residents.
Benefits of telehealth
Accessing telehealth (when appropriate) can improve timeliness of care from GPs, specialist doctors and other health professionals. Attending appointments through telehealth also reduces the need for residents to be transported to and from appointments.
Funding to support implementation and training
Our telehealth project has provided funding to 72 RACHs in the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region to purchase equipment that supports telehealth. Funding was determined through a comprehensive needs assessment, ensuring all participating RACHs could enhance their telehealth activities, regardless of their starting point.
Brisbane North PHN also funded The University of Queensland Centre for Online Health to complete business process support training to ensure RACHs are familiarised with the equipment and telehealth platforms.
Telehealth training program
To support the ongoing telehealth training needs of RACHs and general practice, Brisbane North PHN is one of 15 PHNs from across Australia to develop the Telehealth Training Program.
This microlearning series includes over 60 modules directed at RACHs and remote-end clinicians (and other health professionals) and is available for upload to your organisation’s Learning Management System. Access is free and can be requested by clicking on the button below.
You can also access the microlearning modules via the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s Learning Information Solution (Alis) which is free for Australian government-funded aged care providers and their employees.
