Have your say to inform Brisbane North PHN’s next Health Needs Assessment

As part of our commissioning cycle, Brisbane North PHN undertakes a Health Needs Assessment (HNA) every three years.

The HNA is a crucial part of the planning phase and informs the procurement, implementation and evaluation of health services and programs – it ensures that PHN-funded programs are evidenced based, and tailored to our community’s needs.

The HNA involves the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to better understand the specific health and service system needs within the region.

In preparation for the 2024-27 HNA, Brisbane North PHN is inviting community members of North Brisbane and Moreton Bay to have their say on health issues affecting themselves and their community.

Survey findings will aim to be representative of the broader community demographics within the Brisbane North and Moreton Bay region by way of a representative sample based on age, gender, local government area, people who identify as First Nations, people who identify as LGTBTQIA+, people living with a disability and people who are from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The HNA survey will be made available to people who live in the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region through printed and online flyers, and via social media. Flyers will be handed out at local community events, at forums, through internal and external PHN networks and email distribution channels. Responses are anonymous, and respondents are able to enter into a prize draw for a $250 Westfield voucher upon completion of the survey.

This survey is a “pulse check” that allows us to capture the lived experience and voices of people within our region.

Survey findings will provide both quantitative and qualitative data to compliment additional quantitative data analysis and stakeholder consultation, and will be critical to informing the HNA and broader commissioned services.

The survey will remain open until September 2024, in time for final data analysis and final HNA submission in late 2024. Respondents are encouraged to share their email address so that Brisbane North PHN can contact them in the future for targeted consultation about priority areas.
