Providing vaccinations to our vulnerable communities
16 October 2023In September and October, Brisbane North PHN hosted a series of free vaccine clinics to help protect vulnerable members of our community.
The clinics provided local residents with access to free COVID-19 booster and flu vaccinations courtesy of the PHN and QuIHN. Woodford, located in Moreton Bay's west, was identified as an area with low COVID-19 vaccination and booster rates across a range of demographics. A vaccine clinic for Woodford residents was held on Saturday 16 September with 33 patients from the community attending and 43 vaccines administered.
Post vaccination, patients were provided a $5 voucher from locally owned and operated café Sticks and Stones, with many showing their appreciation for this gesture.
Our most recent clinic was held in Kilcoy this past Saturday, again with the support of QuIHN providing vaccines and Yowie Coffee providing cafe vouchers.
