Hosted by Brisbane North PHN
Hosted by Brisbane North PHN and Metro North Health
Brisbane North PHN and Metro North Health jointly bring stakeholders and colleagues together for the GP Breakfast Briefing at Victoria Park, Herston on Wednesday 7 May 2025.
This year’s GP Breakfast will have a specific focus on the importance of self-care, practitioner wellness and its importance in general practices continuing to provide comprehensive care for their communities.
Our two keynote speakers for the 2025 GP Breakfast are Dr Rachel Hannam and Dr Dinesh Palipana. Both speakers are thoroughly experienced and respected within the healthcare industry.
Dr Hannam deeply understands the complexities of balancing patient care, dealing with grief, trauma and injustice, while also juggling personal commitments. She will lead attendees through a critical discussion of GP burnout and will utilise the session to address professional burnout and offer a range of suggestions for self-care.
To Dr Palipana, medicine is in a state of change, is a fundamentally human activity and he believes when medicine is confronted as a profession, it is helpful to understand our reasoning of existence. He will highlight in his presentation the importance of continuing to provide care for the broader community whilst also caring for our practitioners.
