Family Plus Medical Practice - Practice nurse

We are a new medical practice located in Aspley and provide a professional, respectful and enjoyable work environment with wellbeing incentives for the successful candidate. We are supported by a principal clinician, practice manager, visiting specialists and reception staff.

As our registered nurse, you will need to display excellent bedside manner when dealing with patients as well as astute administrative skills. Your core responsibility will be to provide support to doctors in administering patient care.

Our practice is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. As the clinic grows, there will be optional evenings or weekends available. For the right candidate, an option is also available to complete 3-4 shifts per week if you prefer to work part time (please note in your covering letter if this is preferential for you).

Your key duties will include:

• facilitate child and adult immunisations as well as Covid vaccinations
• provide support in ordering medical supplies and vaccines
• facilitate chronic disease management including the development of care plans and health assessments
• completing pre-employment medical evaluations based on direction from GP
• supporting our GPs with conducting basic patient observations as well as procedures including removal of sutures, wound care, and dressings (or similar)
• undertaking daily maintenance of the treatment room, verifying stock inventory and management of medical equipment and consumable supplies
• follow up phone calls to patients as needed or answering incoming phone calls if required
• support the practice to meet accreditation
• assist the practice manager or reception staff as needed.

It is essential that you possess:

• previous GP experience will be highly regarded
• AHPRA Registration
• Working with Children accreditation incl. National Police Check (or willing to provide)
• experience in Best Practice will be highly regarded
• ability to maintain and supervise cold chain management
• ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive under pressure
• proficient computer and admin skills.
