Brisbane North PHN would like to congratulate two dedicated professionals in the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region who were recently recognised and named in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
119 Queenslanders have been named in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List – acknowledged for their outstanding service and inspiring achievements in Queensland, Australia and abroad.
Viv Kissane, CEO and co-founder of Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness, was awarded an OAM in the General Division for service to community mental health. Peach Tree supports perinatal resilience and recovery with individuals and families through education and social action.
As one of Brisbane North PHN’s service providers, Peach Tree delivers the Sunshine Parenting Program at Caboolture and Geebung. The program is a six week group for mothers who have infants aged between 0-12 months who are experiencing mild postnatal depression and/or anxiety symptoms.
Dr Steven Hambleton, General Practitioner at The Gap, was appointed a Member (AM) in the General Division for significant service to medical governance, to professional associations, and to the community.
His extensive list of contributions includes his role as Chief Clinical Adviser for the Australian Digital Health Agency. Dr Hambleton is also a former Queensland State President and Federal President of the Australian Medical Association. He has also been Co-Chair of the Primary Health Reform Steering Group since 2019.
Dr Hambleton is a member of the boards of Avant Mutual Group Limited, the Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre, and Mercy Community Services. He was formerly an independent board member of the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council, and President of the AMAQ Foundation, the charitable arm of AMA Qld.
Dr Hambleton is passionate about improving the health of all Australians and the need to empower all citizens to more deeply engage in their own and their loved ones’ health care, to shift the dial from a sickness-focussed system to a wellness-focussed system.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians within our region: the Jagera, Turrbal, Gubbi Gubbi, Waka Waka and the Ningy Ningy peoples of where we meet, work and learn. Brisbane North PHN is committed to reconciliation. Our vision for reconciliation is where the stories of our First Nations’ people are heard and shared, and networks are formed.
