The Board of Directors of Brisbane North PHN is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Libby Dunstan as the new CEO of our PHN.
Libby has been with the PHN as its Deputy CEO since 2017 and was selected by the Board to lead our organisation after an extensive executive recruitment process.
“We were incredibly impressed with the calibre of candidates attracted to the role,” said Dr Anita Green, Chair of the Board.
“We are delighted to appoint Libby as our Chief Executive Officer, recognising her deep knowledge of the primary health sector, strong relationships with our partners and her passion for our organisation and its work improving healthcare across our community.
“Libby will be well known to our stakeholders, having been associated with primary healthcare in the Brisbane North region for many years.”
Prior to working for the PHN, Ms Dunstan held key leadership roles across a range of not for profit organisations in the health sector, with a longstanding involvement in primary healthcare.
”I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the Brisbane North PHN, an organisation committed to delivering good health outcomes for the community we serve. I am looking forward to the challenge, building on and expanding the great work done by our outgoing CEO, Dr Abbe Anderson.”
Libby takes over the reins of the PHN today following a seamless transition from Dr Abbe Anderson, who completed 18 years with the organisation, 14 years as CEO, on 3 July 2020.
The Board of Directors welcomes the stability and continuity associated with this appointment and is confident in the skills and experience that Ms Dunstan brings to the leadership of our organisation.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians within our region: the Jagera, Turrbal, Gubbi Gubbi, Waka Waka and the Ningy Ningy peoples of where we meet, work and learn. Brisbane North PHN is committed to reconciliation. Our vision for reconciliation is where the stories of our First Nations’ people are heard and shared, and networks are formed.
