Brisbane North PHN Board of Directors is proud to announce Ms Jane Schmitt as its new director, following her election at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 10 November 2021.
Ms Schmitt brings exceptional leadership expertise and significant board experience, having sat on numerous boards in the areas of health, education, sport and research.
She is also the Executive Director of External Relations at Mater and was previously the CEO of the Australian Medical Association Queensland.
Brisbane North PHN Chief Executive Office Libby Dunstan congratulated Ms Schmitt on her election and said the PHN would benefit enormously from her extensive experience in healthcare environments, as well as her experience in providing strategic planning and governance.
“Jane is passionate about improving the health of the community, this is evident in the multitude of activities she has undertaken in her career – to improve the way healthcare is delivered in Queensland,” Ms Dunstan said.
Ms Schmitt succeeds long standing Director Dr Trish Baker, who steps down after 10 years on the Brisbane North PHN Board of Directors.
“As one of the inaugural directors of Partners 4 Health Limited (Brisbane North PHN) on its incorporation in 2011, Trish has provided invaluable guidance for our PHN over the past 10 years. Her leadership and commitment to our mission has greatly contributed to our successes during this time.”
In other Board news from our 24 November 2021 Board meeting, Dr Anita Green and Dr Jenny Schafer will continue as Chair and Deputy Chair. Mark Henley was re-elected as Finance, Audit, Risk Management Committee Chair. Jody Currie will take up the position as Governance Committee Chair.
