More than 180 guests joined Brisbane North PHN and Metro North Health on Tuesday 7 May for the annual GP Breakfast Briefing and Metro North Health Forum.
A joint initiative of Brisbane North PHN and Metro North Health, this year's forum theme – Building Momentum – aimed to bring stakeholders together in a face-to-face setting to provide greater interpersonal engagement, networking and foster collaboration as we work together to improve health outcomes of the region.
Breakfast guests were welcomed by Brisbane North PHN Board Chair and Medical Director, Queensland Doctors Health Program, Dr Jennifer Schafer. Dr Aaron Chambers, GP Liaison Officer, Children's Health Queensland and Dr Matt Young, General Practitioner and advocate for the Medical Culture Club then discussed practitioner wellness and its importance in a post-COVID context wherein the general practice workforce has never been under more pressure.
Forum keynote speaker Professor Stephen Duckett (pictured left) shared insights about the opportunities for integration across clinical boundaries and between organisations, as well as local examples from services collaborating through planning and delivery to improve the health outcomes of the region.

Guests also enjoyed a World Cafe session (pictured below), providing insight into some of the PHN's commissioned services and other programs operating in the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region.
