Australian primary healthcare practitioner survey on IUD insertion Assessment and Management of Pain (IUD-AMP)
Monash University
Having an intrauterine device (IUD) inserted can be a painful experience for some people. The SPHERE Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) at Monash University is conducting a national study to better understand current practices and support needs of Australian primary healthcare practitioners in assessing and managing pain during IUD insertion.
All healthcare practitioners working in primary healthcare who provide IUD insertion services, including GPs, nurse practitioners, midwives, and other AHPRA-registered practitioners, are invited to participate.
Insights will help inform the development of evidence‑based training and resources, so as to better support primary healthcare practitioners, and women seeking contraception counselling and IUD insertion services.
