OCEAN Study - Helping to shape the future of general practice

The University of Sydney

The OCEAN (Occasions of Care Explained and Analysed) study is a national research program providing unique insights into care provided by multidisciplinary health professionals in Australian general practice. OCEAN is building a national evidence base on how general practices, Aboriginal Medical Services and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services deliver team-based care. Study data will inform the case for better support and resourcing at the national level and ensure that future policy is informed by real-world practice.

Right now there are two ways to get involved:

  1. If you are a practice manager or practice owner, we invite you to complete the OCEAN Practice Profile, which captures key information about your practice, including your team, size and services. It takes most people 10-20 minutes to complete. Check your inbox for your practice's personalised invitation or follow this link to express your interest.
  2. If you are a nurse, nurse practitioner or physiotherapist working in these settings, tell us about your skills, education and experience by completing the OCEAN Professional Profile. It takes most people 10-20 minutes to complete and has been designed by nurses and physiotherapists as an opportunity to reflect your real work - not just what is assumed or recorded elsewhere. If you work at a practice that has completed the Practice Profile you may have received an email invitation. Otherwise, please follow this link to express your interest.

Your participation counts!
