RBWH Cancer Care Services Preceptorship
Hosted by Metro North Health
Hosted by RBWH Trauma Service and Jamieson Trauma Institute
For trauma patients, transitioning from acute hospital care back into the community can be daunting and complex, often requiring coordinated input from multiple community-based services. This bespoke workshop aims to refresh and enhance the skills of community service providers involved in the ongoing care of trauma patients following hospital discharge.
Attendees will gain an understanding of common mechanisms of injury and injury patterns, typical treatment pathways, and most importantly, key areas requiring monitoring and follow‑up in the community setting. The workshop also provides an opportunity for community teams to build relationships and strengthen networks with inpatient trauma services, supporting improved continuity and transition of care.
Target Audience
This workshop is suited to General Practitioners seeking to refresh their critical care knowledge and enhance their confidence in caring for trauma patients. We also welcome regional and rural clinicians involved in the step‑down care of patients returning to their local catchment areas, as well as community‑based nursing and allied health professionals supporting ongoing recovery,
