For more than 30 years, Karuna has provided specialist, in-home and community-based palliative care across Brisbane, supporting people with life-limiting illness to live with comfort, dignity and peace.
We are seeking a General Practitioner with a Special Interest in Palliative Care (GP SI) to join our community service three days per week. You will work alongside our current Palliative Care Specialist as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team delivering thoughtful, relationship-based care.

The role
You will provide palliative care support to patients receiving care through Karuna’s community service, which supports approximately 500 patients annually.
The role includes:
- telehealth consultations and case reviews
- occcasional home visits for patients with more complex needs
- collaboration with GPs, specialists, and the Karuna clinical team
- supporting symptom management and care planning
- contribution to multidisciplinary case reviews
- supporting advance care planning conversations.
You will be well-supported by specialist clinicians while maintaining scope and autonomy appropriate to your experience.
About you
- registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- current GP (FRACGP or FACRRM or equivalent)
- demonstrated interest and experience in palliative or end-of-life care
- strong communication and collaboration skills
- commitment to person-centred, holistic care.
Postgraduate qualifications or additional training in palliative care are highly regarded but not essential.
