Gympie Road Medical Centre - Practice manager

Seeking an experienced practice manager to work alongside four directors in an expanding GP owned clinic. If you have a strong background in the management of a general practice, have a true passion to care for patients and also have an understanding of business principles, we would love to talk with you. We are a mixed billing practice that currently has 12 doctors, several specialists and multiple allied health practitioners. The role is supported by an administration manager, reception supervisor and a finance officer. We also have onsite pathology, pharmacy and dental. While the role is advertised as a full time position, part time options will be considered for the right candidate.

This role will include:

Requirements/areas of responsibility:

• accreditation and compliance matters including continued maintenance of the clinic’s quality management software programs (PracticeHub/RACGP Emergency Response Planning Tool)
• experience working with Best Practice
• recruitment and contract negotiations with future staff including medical registrars and independent contractors
• identifying and troubleshooting daily operational issues
• understanding of basic financials
• knowledge of Medicare/ DVA/Workcover systems
• experience with staff training and development including performance benchmarking.

To be considered for this role you must possess the following skill set:

• experience in general practice management
• familiar with human resource requirements including knowledge of the applicable health industry awards and legislation
• demonstrated people management skills
• effective communication skills including with people from diverse backgrounds
• excellence in IT literacy including billing processes, financials and software packages with the ability to adapt to new technology quickly
• well-developed organisational and time management skills
• have the ability to work as a part of a team in a dynamic organisation
• Certificate III/IV or a Diploma in Practice Management would be highly regarded but is not essential as a great attitude and strong work ethic is our priority.
