About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and experienced casual medical receptionist to join our team in a relief capacity.

This role primarily covers planned annual leave, short-notice sick leave, and other staff absences for our permanent part-time reception team. While there are no guaranteed minimum weekly hours, you will play a crucial role in maintaining seamless operations when shifts arise.

Key responsibilities and shift details

• provide high-quality front-desk support, managing patient arrivals, phone calls, and practitioner schedules
• maintain flexibility to step into varied shifts between 7.45 am and 5.30 pm, Monday through Friday
• comfortably adapt to a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Selection criteria

• experience: prior reception experience in a general practice setting is essential
• software: hands-on proficiency with Best Practice software is essential
• communication: outstanding interpersonal skills with a warm, professional, and confident demeanour when interacting with patients, doctors, and nursing staff
• reliability and flexibility: strong work ethic, high dependability, and the availability to take on both advance-notice and short-notice relief coverage
• teamwork: ability to work calmly, efficiently, and collaboratively within a close-knit clinical team.
