Older Persons Mental Health

Metro North Health and Brisbane North PHN invite GPs to join general practice colleagues and our panel of experts for an evening of education and discussion.

As our population ages, GPs are caring for an increasing number of older patients. Depression is estimated to affect 10 to 15 per cent of people aged over 65 years, and there can be diagnostic challenges in distinguishing mood symptoms and dementia in this population.

This education event brings together specialists in old age psychiatry and geriatrics to discuss care of our older patients.
