Research on psychotherapy to ease anxiety experienced by people living with cognitive impairment

The Dementia & Neuro Mental Health Research Unit at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR)

The Dementia & Neuro Mental Health Research Unit at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR) led by A/Prof Nadeeka Dissanayaka are seeking volunteers to examine a psychotherapy program for anxiety in people with cognitive impairment.

If selected, you will participate in a 6-week psychotherapy program to alleviate feelings of anxiety. The program consists of talking about experiences of anxiety and practicing relaxation exercises to alleviate feelings of anxiety and worry. It is delivered via videoconferencing (Zoom), and therefore you can participate in this project from home, anywhere in Australia.

We invite people who have been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia and who experience anxiety or worry, to express interest.
