Medicare Mental Health can connect people with mental health services in the Brisbane North and Moreton Bay region.

Medicare Mental Health phone line 1800 595 212 can be accessed by consumers, their families, carers, as well as GPs, service providers and other health professionals.

The Medicare Mental Health phone line will operate 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). The services are free and no Medicare card is required.

GPs and other health professionals have access an expanded range of Brisbane North PHN commissioned mental health, alcohol and other drugs and suicide prevention services via the My Mental Health Services eReferral.

How to complete a referral

The My Mental Health Services eReferral is a single electronic form which can be used to refer into all commissioned services. The information provided in the referral form will be used to select a service matched to the consumers presenting needs. The eReferral will securely transmit the information directly to the service provider.

The My Mental Health Services eReferral is available online via the eLink. For more information about completing a referral to a Brisbane North commissioned provider, call Medicare Mental Health at 1800 595 212 , available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Information about data collection and consent

All PHN mental health and suicide prevention services funded by the Department of Health are required to collect the Primary Mental Health Care Minimum Data Set (PMHC-MDS). This dataset improves the quality of services and allows the Department of Health to plan into the future. The PHN will collect this data on behalf of the Department of Health, however your consent to share this data with the Department of Health is optional. Information about the consent process is listed below.
